Boiler servicing that keeps you safe and your warranty valid
A proper yearly service carried out by David, with a reminder from us when the next one is due.
A boiler service is a safety check first and a maintenance job second. David checks that your boiler is burning gas safely and venting fumes properly, then cleans and adjusts it so it keeps running efficiently.
Most manufacturers need a service every 12 months to keep the warranty valid. So we set a yearly reminder for every customer and get in touch when the next one is due. You do not need to remember.
We service all the major makes, including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Vokera and Baxi. If we spot anything that needs attention, we explain it and price it before doing anything.
What a service includes
- Visual check of the boiler, flue and pipework
- Flue gas analysis to check the boiler is burning safely
- Burner, heat exchanger and key components inspected and cleaned where needed
- Gas pressure and flow checked
- Safety devices and controls tested
- Condensate pipe and trap checked
- Any issues explained and priced before any extra work
- Service record completed and a reminder set for next year

-
Yellow or orange flame
A healthy gas flame is blue. A lazy yellow or orange flame can mean poor combustion and needs checking.
-
Strange noises
Banging, gurgling or whistling can point to air in the system, low pressure or a build-up of sludge.
-
Pressure keeps dropping
If you are topping up the pressure often, there may be a leak or a faulty valve somewhere.
-
It has been over a year
If you cannot remember your last service, it is due. Most warranties need one every 12 months.
Servicing prices
We give you the price for your service when you book, so you know where you stand before David arrives.
If the service turns up a problem, David explains what he found and what it would cost to fix. Nothing extra is done without your say so.
Brilliant service.
Our boiler broke down. Phoned David in the morning and boiler repaired in afternoon. Priced the job for parts and labour before starting. Good price. The next week we had no hot water. A different problem than before. Again David came out and told us what was wrong. Priced the part and labour and gave us a date for the job. Everything sorted!
How often should my boiler be serviced?
Once every 12 months. Most manufacturers need a yearly service to keep the warranty valid, and it is the best way to catch small problems before they turn into breakdowns.
Will you remind me when my next service is due?
Yes. We set a yearly reminder for every customer and get in touch when the next service is due, so your warranty stays valid without you having to remember.
How long does a boiler service take?
Usually around an hour for a straightforward service. It can take longer if the boiler needs a deeper clean or if David finds something that needs a closer look.
Do I need to be in during the service?
Someone needs to let David in and be available at the end so he can talk you through what he found. You do not need to stay in the room.
